The Sheep Page
Dream Weaver Farm is home to more than Traumhof German Shepherd Dogs. Our flock of sheep also reside here, happily munching our pastures and enhancing the scenic pastoral view!
Our dogs are Herding dogs, and we train them to work our sheep, helping to ensure that the sheep stay where we wish them to graze, and out of the areas we don’t want them to “mow” for us.

Resident sheep include our old timers, Thelma and Louise
(Merino/Dorset and Romney/ Dorset crosses), as well as our younger ewes (including Cagney & Lacey, Laverne and Shirley, Betty and Wilma, Freckles, Little Pretty (Tabitha), Sabrina and Endora, Lucy and Ethel….)
Commencing Autumn, 2009, we will offer Beginning Herding lessons to those who have a German Shepherd Dog and are interested in working their dog with sheep.
*Preference is always given to those who have dogs we bred!*

We plan to hold Herding Instinct Tests in the future, and will post information on our NEWS page.

We are working hard to put together a Club for Herding enthusiasts; especially for those who want to train their dogs for an HGH title.
Once our club is officially affiliated, we will be able to hold SV sanctioned shows, Breed Surveys, and Trials. Please contact Karen via email for more information.

*See our Articles Page for more Herding information*
We would like to Thank Ellen Nickelsberg for helping us establish our flock, and for the generous Herding invitation extended to Bunny and Sherry!

Thanks also to Susan Sullivan for helping me start my young dogs, and allowing Sherry to continue . Thanks to Chip Hallett, a wonderful sheep resource & shearer extraordinaire!
